The shares of seasonal housing stocks increase between the Upper Cape and Outer Cape.
A combination of locational amenities, such as proximity to Boston and beaches, plays an important role in the seasonal characteristics of different Cape towns. This has economic implications, which we will highlight in the following edition.
Truro (71%), Wellfleet (61%) and Eastham (59%) are the top three towns in terms of percentage of housing stock that are seasonal units. Sandwich (17%), Barnstable (21%) and Bourne (22%) have the lowest percentages of their housing stock as seasonal units.
